Patch 12.1.5 Is Live — New Region, Two Dungeons, Better Bag Space

The Hollow Reach opens to everyone today, along with the fastest dungeon pair we have ever shipped and a bag change that players have asked for since launch.

The Hollow Reach is open. If you have ever wanted to walk across a desert made of glass and hear it ring under your boots, this is the region for you — and it arrives with two dungeons, a reworked bag system, and more than four hundred small fixes pulled straight from your reports.

We expect the download to take about ten minutes on a normal connection. Log in, head to Sundermere harbour, and the new ferry route will take you across. No quest chain needed, no reputation gate, no waiting for a friend to unlock anything.

What is new

  • The Hollow Reach — a glass desert region with six chapters of story, three world events, and a skyriding route that ends somewhere we are not going to spoil.
  • Two dungeons — the Mirror Wells and the Salt Vault, both tuned for four players and built to finish inside twenty-five minutes.
  • Bag space — reagents now stack to 1000. Your bank is also searchable, and there is a new "send to bank" option on every loot roll.
  • Catch-up gear — a vendor at the Reach's first outpost hands out a starter set to anyone below item level 480.

The bag change, explained

For years, the answer to "where did this go" was a shrug and a bag audit. Now every character shares one reagent bank, which means your crafter on one realm can see the herbs your gatherer found on another. It is a small sentence and a very large amount of engineering.

"We did not want to add inventory slots again. We wanted people to stop thinking about inventory at all."

The change is live for everyone, including Classic players — Classic keeps its own separate stack limits, exactly as it was in 2005.

Balance and quality of life

  • Wardens now generate noticeably more threat in the opening seconds of a fight.
  • Rangers' ranged attacks no longer lose their target when the enemy steps behind a pillar.
  • The group finder remembers the role you actually played last time, not the one you queued as by mistake.
  • Auction house sorting finally sorts by what you clicked, in the direction you clicked.

Known issues

The Bell Tower dungeon can, very rarely, close its final door before the last player enters. If that happens, leave the dungeon and re-enter — your progress is kept. A fix is in testing now and will ship as a hotfix this week.

What is next

The Hollow Tide raid opens on all difficulties in two weeks, and the Ember Cup finals run this weekend for anyone who would rather watch than queue. Thank you for the reports — the sticky door was yours.
